He turned 6 yesterday and is such a great "little man" - - -

Christmas Countdown - Merry Christmas

I love Crumb Cake Cardstock and find myself 

using it every chance I get.  I also am a "scrap saver" - 

and yes that means I save various pieces of scrapbooking

paper and place it in a neat little Ziploc bag

to use on future projects.

I even have a "magic box"....

but that's for another post...

Using a favorite snowflake stamp on the cardstock allows me 

to create my own unique background paper.

I used fun framelits for the cocoa mug and steam, too.  Such fun!

Another Christmas Countdown Card

As you can tell, I am adore the soft and
muted blues of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay.

I love the Glimmer paper and the White Embossing Powder
to accent the message and image.

Supplies used include:  Come to Bethlehem Stamp Set,
Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Glimmer Brads (Basic),
Glimmer Paper (Champagne), Lace Ribbon Border Punch,
Fancy Label (cut from Cricut), Pool Party Cardstock,
Whisper White Cardstock,White Embossing Powder,
Versamark and Dimensionals.

Chicken Wire & Birthdays - You Don't Say!

Birthdays are a big deal around here and today is a milestone.  Our oldest daughter turns 30! ....and NO I'm not feeling old.

I had a blast creating a great frame for her with chicken wire.  These have been the rage for quite a while, but I want it to be unique for her.

I started with some a frame I recovered from
a junk yard - spray painted it,
then sanded most of the paint away and applied
a stain (weathered grey was used here).

Then I got the hubby to help me
 (because apparently you need 8 hands)
and staple in the chicken wire.

I had a blast putting together the banner with
scrapbook paper coated in Modge Podge 
and then adding decor on it that I cut with my Cricut.

I used the same scrapbook papers to decorate
the mini clothespins used to hold photos.

I love the end result - don't you?  And our daughter loved it too!

Another Great Card for Christmas

I love Christmas....and as promised I will be sharing 

a TON of Christmas ideas with you in 

my 2013 Christmas Countdown!  

Here's another simple, yet elegant Christmas Card for you.

To create the beautiful poinsettia 
( Joyful Christmas Clear Mount Stamp - Stampin Up!), 
start by stamping the image

 twice on Vellum with VersaMark 

and then embossing with Silver Embossing Powder.  

Cut one image and only the center of the second one.  

Layer them on top of each other with dimensionals.  

Then I add the pretty Frosted Finishes 

embellishments from Stampin' Up!, 

which adds a little extra sparkle to the card.

It was a recipe my daughter, who was 10 at the time,
found for her first time she wanted to learn to cook.  

This recipe is quick and easy and is
sure to be a "winner" on the dinner table.

A Christmas Treat Topper for You

Today's Christmas Countdown Freebie is a sweet Treat Topper 

that you can save and print for this year's Christmas treats.

Whether you plan to gift a clear treat sack of
cookies or handmade gift tags, this would
be a fabulous addition to your treat sack.

This could also be used on the top of a cute 

paper sack that was colored or plain, as well.

Save this mage, add image to blank page in program of your choosing 

(I usually choose from Word, Photoshop or MS Publisher),

 print, trim and fold in half for the treat bag of your 

choosing and then staple to secure to the top.

I created this great topper using My Digital Studio 

and the original size of the image is 4.25" x 5.5".

If you have a printer that allows for Borderless printing you can 

lay a series of these images out to fit 4 to a page.
